This series of charcoal drawings were inspired by my background in gymnastics, love of the human form and my fascination with movement. These drawings were stored away for many years due to unresolved emotional difficulties relating to negative experiences within the gymnastics world. At the time I wasn’t ready to share or develop this work because I didn’t want to bring negativity into my art practice. However, my desire to explore acrobatic movement remained strong and years later these drawings became to the starting point for my DYCP application
