In September 2021 I was commissioned by Lancaster BID to undertake a piece of Italian themed pavement art for Festa Italia in Lancaster.
My pavement artwork was inspired by the landscapes and sunflowers of Tuscany. I used a bright and complimentary colour palette of blues, lilacs and yellows, and worked in a mixture of soft pastels including Faber Castell, Unison and Derwent. To save my fingers from the rough surface of the concrete slabs I used strips of pipe insulation to blend the pastel.
The artwork was created over a period of 6 hours during the festival. It was a really enjoyable experience. The people of Lancaster were very friendly and complimentary about my artwork.
